…to Marissa Sackler for $12.5 Million, a 16.4% discount off the asking price of $14.95 Million. In a “Not So Hush Hush” way, earlier this year the rumors were flying all over New York’s Luxury West Village real estate market that Jennifer Anniston was checking out a Penthouse at 2 Horatio St, a pre-war Bing & Bing developed co-op building.

As a West Village resident myself, I can attest to the fact that this was not just “broker-buzz” but even all my old-time Village neighbors were whispering excitedly about it.

As is now common knowledge Jennifer ended up buying several units at another nearby Bing & Bing condo building. At approximately $4,237 per square foot, the sale of the 2 Horatio Penthouse sets a near record for a West Village co-op apartment.

I’m wondering, should we re-name the West Village “Holmby Hills – East” after one of West L.A.’s most exclusive neighborhoods? In 2010, Forbes ranked the West Village’s Zip Code (10014) as the 5th most expensive Zip Code in the country, ahead of Beverly Hills (90210) The neighborhood’s single-family townhouses, historic designation and luxuy new developments continue to draw many celebrities and others who love its low scale, slower pace and well, neighborhood feel.
